MCS is an industry-led quality assurance scheme, which demonstrates the quality and reliability of approved products and installation companies.
Being MCS certified demonstrates to your customers that you install/manufacture to the industry-expected level of quality every time. MCS gives you a mark of quality which provides assurance.
It’s important to know that without an MCS certificate, you will be unable to apply for a Smart Export Tariff (SEG) and earn off any power you send back to the grid.
There are essentially four elements to becoming an MCS certified Installer. These are:
- A commitment to quality workmanship
- Commitment to customer care
- Demonstrate competency
- Committing to continual improvement through the deployment of an effective management system
We are proud to be a HIES Accredited Member providing trust, confidence, and peace and mind to our customers.
Smart Solar UK have satisfied the requirements for membership of The Home Insulation & Energy Systems Quality Assured Contractors Scheme and has been awarded the status of Accredited Member for Solar Photovoltaic products and undertakes to abide by the decisions of The Ombudsman and to serve their customers with integrity and a commitment to quality.
The HIES Scheme Rules & Code of Practice details the additional protection consumers receive when using a HIES Member. The aim of the Code of Practice is to reduce consumer detriment and covers many areas, which include how to market to consumers, deal with vulnerable consumers, provide clear pre-contractual information and how a HIES member should interact with a consumer.
In order to become an Accredited HIES Member, all installers must first pass their strict accreditation process and to maintain membership must undergo annual vetting to ensure they are consistently complying with the scheme rules and code of practice, see here: www.hiesscheme.org.uk/regulation/hies-scheme-rules-code-of-practice
